Where Do I Start?

If you have a child approaching high school and you are wondering where to start the college search, I have the perfect book to get you started. I have read extensively about the college process, everything from academic texts to fiction. The first book that I recommend parents read, before their children even enter high school, is called College Unranked.  This text is a series of essays by college admissions professionals and it is edited by Lloyd Thacker. You will learn what is important in the college search and where your student should focus their energy.  The image below is my well-worn copy. Enjoy!

About skiracedad

I am a Dad, a passionate skier and an ex-racer who crisscrosses the Northeast with my three junior racers. These writings grew out of some emails that I was writing to my family to fill them on our race weekends. They were forwarded so many times that I finally started a blog. The opinions expressed are purely my own.
